Polymer Synthesis

The group seeks to develop new polymerization strategies for the synthesis of advanced materials with controlled dispersity, functionality and architecture. The focus here is to (i) improve existing methodologies to synthesize complex materials (e.g., ATRP, RAFT, emulsion polymerisation), (ii) fundamentally understand the underlying mechanism of these polymerization systems and (iii) translate the knowledge obtained to synthesise novel functional and sequence-controlled polymers. Key to our approach is to simplify our polymerization protocols and expand the access and availability of tailored polymeric materials to all researchers.
