Polymer Self-Assembly

Our research also focuses on the engineering of smart polymeric nanomaterials that can respond in various stimuli and fulfil a predefined function. Although polymeric nanomaterials have revolutionised a variety of industries and research fields, there are still major synthetic challenges that currently hinder the rapid and widespread market reach of such nanomaterials. Our goal is to overcome these challenges and control all physicochemical properties of nanomaterials (size, shape, surface and core chemistry) by developing novel reproducible and scalable synthetic techniques. To achieve this, we use a range of different polymerization techniques as well as different assembly methodologies. Such polymeric nanomaterials can be useful for a range of applications including catalysis, organic electronic and biomedicine.
